Product description

The Zenith king size bed frame is built for the buyer who has already decided the room can take a king. That decision is worth getting right before anything else. A king needs roughly 3.4 metres of room width to live comfortably — the frame itself occupies about 199 cm across, and what’s left has to carry side tables, wardrobe doors that open, and space to walk. Below that width we usually recommend a queen instead. It’s a recommendation, not a rule, and plenty of clients take the king anyway and are happy with it. Measure the room first and we’ll tell you honestly which way to go.

What separates this bed from most of what’s sold in Malaysia isn’t the look — it’s what’s underneath. The Zenith king size bed frame is 100% solid teak throughout. Not a teak veneer over engineered board, not solid rails with plywood slats hidden under the mattress. Solid teak, every component, including the slats.

That matters because of how bed frames actually fail. Cheap frames are built from lighter, less dense timber and held together with joinery that was never designed to carry two adults for a decade. They start with a small creak, the creak becomes a rock, and eventually a joint gives way. Teak is a dense hardwood, and we join it with mortise and tenon locked with bolts from the inside — the same construction we’ve used for twenty years. It doesn’t creak, and if something ever does need attention after ten years of use, solid wood can be repaired and put back into service. Board-based furniture can’t be.

The headboard is solid teak as well, 110–120 cm tall, with no upholstery. Upholstery on a bed dates quickly and doesn’t survive Malaysian humidity gracefully. We leave the timber to do the work.

Technical information

Built to the standard Malaysian king mattress size, 183 × 190 cm. The internal frame opening is deliberately made 2–3 cm larger than the mattress on each side. That small allowance is why changing a fitted sheet on this bed isn’t a wrestling match.

As a space reference, the outer footprint sits at roughly mattress width plus 8 cm per side and mattress length plus 10 cm at head and foot — around 199 cm wide by 210 cm long. It varies slightly by design, but it’s a reliable number to plan a room around.

Slats are approximately 5 cm wide and spaced 2–3 cm apart, set about 5 cm below the top edge of the frame so the mattress sits down into the bed rather than perching on top of it. All slats are solid teak.

Finishing is NC-based, with up to four stain options ranging from a clear finish that keeps the natural teak tone through to a darker walnut. You choose the stain. Timber is SVLK-certified plantation teak from Java, kiln-dried, and made in our own Indonesian factory — you’re buying direct from the manufacturer, not through a middleman. Covered by our standard 5-year warranty. For a full size comparison across our range, see our bed frames in Malaysia page and our guide to bed frame sizes in Malaysia.

Product care

Indoors, this bed asks for very little. Wipe it down with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvent cleaners and don’t let standing water sit on the finish.

Solid wood moves. Teak is properly dried and treated before it’s cut, but it still expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity — so fine hairline movement at a joint or along a longer panel is normal and characteristic of solid timber, not a defect. It’s the trade-off for owning something repairable.

After a house move or a few years of use, check the internal bolts and give them a turn if needed. That five-minute job is usually the entire maintenance history of one of our beds.

Delivery & showroom

Standard designs are held in stock. In the Klang Valley that generally means same-day or next-day delivery with in-home assembly included. If a piece is out of stock, the lead time is around eight weeks.

Access is never an issue. The Zenith king size bed frame is fully knockdown — the largest single component is the headboard, roughly 120 cm tall by 200 cm wide. In twenty years we have never had a bed we couldn’t get into a house, condo unit or lift.

See it in person at our showroom: No. 29, Jalan Pendidik U1/31, Hicom-Glenmarie Industrial Park, 40150 Shah Alam. Open daily, 10am–7pm. Bring your room measurements and we’ll tell you exactly how it will sit. Pair it with a solid teak bedside table to complete the set.
