We finish the OREGON by sanding it smooth and then stopping. No lacquer, no stain, no sealer. That is a deliberate choice, not a shortcut.

Cheaper “teak” benches get coated precisely to hide inferior wood underneath, and that coating is the first thing to blister and peel once the weather gets to it. The weatherproofing is handled by the wood itself. Teak’s natural oils and dense grain repel water and resist termites without any treatment at all. Who the 150cm Is For

This is the size for couples and small households — real two-person seating without the bench dominating the room it sits in.

Placement and the Grey Question

Put it anywhere you like — full sun, open rain, poolside, a covered patio, or just inside the front door. Teak genuinely does not mind where it sits.

Left completely uncovered, the wood turns a soft silver-grey over roughly six to twelve months. That patina is purely cosmetic; it does not weaken the bench in the slightest, and it is exactly as strong grey as it was golden.

The look is entirely your call. Leave it to the natural silver, or sand it back to the original honey-gold in under an hour with 120-to-240 grit paper, with nothing to apply afterward.

Product care

There is very little to it. Wipe or hose the bench down when it gets dusty, deal with spills as they happen, and let the teak look after its own weatherproofing — no oiling or sealing needed.

Because the OREGON teak outdoor bench 150cm is solid teak all the way through, a scratch from keys, a watch clasp or a dragged pot sands out in minutes instead of becoming permanent. That is a repair laminate and veneer can never offer.

If it greys and you would rather have the gold back, a light hand-sand with 120-to-240 grit paper brings the warm tone up again, and nothing needs to go over it. Keep it out of the very harshest direct sun if you want that honey tone to deepen evenly, and that is genuinely the whole maintenance manual.
